Intermediate / Senior Structural Design Engineer

Job description:
  • Production of CAD layouts and detailed design documents for structural steel, plant site roads, grading, reinforced concrete and buildings.
  • Assist with the creation and compiling of construction work package documentation.
Requirements:
  • Experience with one of the major 3D Plant design packages is mandatory.
  • 5 to 9 years’ engineering drafting and modelling experience.
  • Experienced in the use of AutoDesk Plant 3D and Advance Steel.
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; displays a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-management, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Effective team player who works well independently.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, coupled with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Drafting and modeling with precision and care with proper engineering and coordination follow up.
  • Exercises good judgment and possesses decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.

For Senior Engineers:

  • proven 10 + years in leading and mentoring junior staff.
  • ability to manage project team manhours, schedule and performance in sync with lead engineer with higher engineering and constructability input.

To be considered as assets:

  • Experience in chemical and petroleum industry, infrastructure and civil earthworks projects.
  • Willingness to visit remote project sites (Canada) as required.
  • Commitment to a team focused objective environment that values integrity and trust.
  • Willingness to assist others and take on tasks that might not ordinarily fall within the role.
  • Desire for learning and a willingness to apply and share newly acquired skills and abilities.
